An opportunity to retire comes along once in a lifetime. For IBEW Brother Patrick Lavin, that auspicious occasion was March 31, 2021.
Brother Lavin started with IBEW Local 9 Chicago in 1966. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1969 and served on active duty until 1972, remaining a dues paying member of Local 9 throughout. After working as a lineman, he was elected Business Manager of Local 47 in 1999. For the last 19 years, he has also served as the Seventh District Representative on the IBEW International Executive Council.
BMA Media has been honored to work with Lavin on various projects and special events for more than 15 years, including events held during three IBEW International Conventions.
Lavin’s career and legacy continues to impact the IBEW, as his son Colin was appointed by the Local 47 Executive Board to replace him as Business Manager.
To honor Brother Lavin, IBEW Local 47 has turned to BMA Media to produce a union event that celebrates the impact he has had on the industry and the IBEW.
BMA Media is proud to announce this partnership and the multiple facets of union-production that will go into the October 2021 event. BMA Media will solicit advertisements and sponsorship for an in-house written and produced tribute book that chronicles Brother Lavin’s career, as well as organize and execute a top-of-the-line celebration that properly honors his dedication to the IBEW and the electrical industry.
BMA is excited and proud to be a part of this important event celebrating IBEW Brother Patrick Lavin.
